U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) and former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift (R-North Adams) helped open the Victory '08 Manchester headquarters.

Victory '08 is the Republican National Committee program that is tasked with coordinating Republican get-out-the-vote efforts.

Sununu used the occasion to draw contrasts between U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

"John McCain has the resume, reputation and success on national security that I don't think anyone in the U.S. Senate can match."

The junior Senator also said he has more experience than Obama.

"I'm the youngest member of the U.S. Senate but I still have more experience than Barack Obama," Sununu said. "What's powerful about a line like that is that it's absolutely true."

Swift also criticzed McCain's rival.

"Barack Obama has a record far to the left of most Americans, never mind most New Englanders," she told the crowd of 150 people.

Before speaking, Swift said she made 24 phone calls on behalf of the McCain campaign.

Sununu was greeted by a two anti-war protThe "Sununu gas station pump"The "Sununu gas station pump"estors and a Democratic staffer dressed as a "Sununu station gas pump."

"The Sununu station gas pump is to let New Hampshire voters know that John Sununu is standing up for the oil companies," said Alex Reese, spokesman for the New Hampshire Democratic Party coordinated campaign. "Middle-class families are really hurting and instead of standing-up for them he's standing with oil and gas companies."

NHDP Staffers are Idiots

That kid looks like an idiot, how is him standing there getting any votes for Shaheen? How on Earth does John Sununu have anything to do with gas prices?

Awesome job NH GOP! How

Awesome job NH GOP! How many offices does that make now? Two? Couldn't you get anyone better than those 3 to open your office? Someone that the people of NH like? Oh, wait. That's right. There aren't any high ranking GOP officials left in NH, that's why you needed to look to Massachusetts for help!

You have the concept wrong

You need to realize that this is the New England hq for the party now. McCain's New England regional effort and the NH Victory effort will be based there. There were dignitaries from all New England states there, including the Chairman of the Connecticut GOP. There are far more Republican offices in NH then you think, just not the dozens that the Dems have.

Dear Anonymous GOP John

Dear Anonymous GOP

John Sununu has a lot to do with gas prices. He's voted in favor of the Bush admin's awful energy policies, and he's sided with Big Oil at every turn. Rather than diversify our national energy portfolio, Bush et. al have increased our dependence on oil.

Anonymous Dumb, you are

Anonymous Dumb, you are blind. Since the dumbocrats took over, gas has risen by over 100%. The disastrous policies they've voted in adn are intending to vote in have shaken the financial markets to the core. Therein lies the reasons behind the economic downturn we're experiencing. It happens almost every time a scumocrat majority is in congress. Oh, BTW, the approval rating for this scumocrat congress is lower than that of President Bush and that, my leftist deluded friend, is quite an accomplishment. Wake up, mooobat!

Seacoast GOP

Sorry lamb, you've gotten a little too much radiation from Seabrook.

Gas prices have skyrocketed under the Bush admin. Remember the secret energy meetings Biggus Dickus had, to set energy policy?
Apparently your jerking right knee has erased your memory, and you've forgotten Bush's ties to Big Oil, and how diligently your GOP (glutinous oil pig) buddies have worked to ensure that Big Oil continued to get leases to public lands they don't do exploratory drilling on, and to ensure that the US taxpayers continue to subsidize the oil industry, so that the CEO's can receive multi-million dollar bonuses.

The Glutinous Oil Pigs made sure that funding for renewable energy sources was cut in every single budget, and that the CAFE standards for automobiles remained at the glutinous level.
