Shaheen to focus on energy

Throughout the week, former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) will be barnstorming the Granite State to meet with voters about rising energy prices.

Details of the events have not yet been released but Shaheen will be making stops in Salem, Concord, Littleton, Plymouth, Claremont, Newport and Rochester.

"It's an economic and an environmental imperative that we invest in the development of alternative and renewable energy sources, increase domestic energy production and practice conservation in our daily lives," Shaheen said in a statement. "But we also need to look at ways that we can provide relief now for New Hampshire families paying over $4 a gallon at the pump.  We need to take action immediately."

Shaheen is running against U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) in a rematch of the 2002 election.

Stop the press!

"It's an economic and an environmental imperative that we invest in the development of alternative and renewable energy sources, increase domestic energy production and practice conservation in our daily lives."

Did Jeanne just say that she wants to increase domestic energy production? Is that code for more drilling, but wait Jeanne, you were positive that the speculators were the reason that prices were so high. Which is it? Global suppy and demand or speculators???

Maybe its the poll that 70% of voters want more drilling.

Jeanne will you be selling "pander bears" at the Red Sox game along with Paul "Fenway Franked" Hodes?

Specifics

How can the Shaheen campaign be winning if they don't give specifics. It must be nice to say "I want to protect America, save Americans money, and do what is right on every issue." And never have to back it up. Common Jeanne, Where's the beef?
