A Manchester Republican activist has been barred from posting on the website Blue Hampshire.
The activist, Tammy Simmons, has been banned from the site because she violated site rules. Simmons was using a pseudonym to post comments on the popular site which is a violation of the rules because the editors claim she is a paid campaign staffer.
"Ms. Simmons, the Executive Director of an anti-tax advocacy group, in essence equivalent to a paid staffer for a political campaign, nowhere made that disclosure during her time here. Indeed, that appears to be the very idea," wrote Editor Dean Barker.
As of this posting Simmons did not respond to an e-mail and phone call requesting comment.
Barker added that Simmons was also kicked-off the site because she was using more than one identity to post comments.
Simmons is the executive director of the New Hampshire Advantage Coalition. She is also running for state representative in Manchester and is the treasurer of the Manchester Republican Committee.
The year 2008 brought many fun memories for New Hampshire political junkies. From Hillary's tear in Portsmouth to the >

Oh no!
She's "in essence equivalent to a paid staffer for a political campaign"? That's some weak sauce. I'm in essence equivalent to a chimpanzee, but the devil's in the details.
Rowland
You're closer than mere essence to a chimpanzee, dude.
typical.
democrats are good at silencing those whom do not share their opinion on issues.
Dude I am not Rowland
seriously. Email him or something.
And as proof:
I give you this video, with my voice that is clearly not Rowland's. As an added bonus, I get the Democrats banning cameras (or maybe just my camera) from public events.

Disagree, fine. Deceive, not fine.
I think the whole "pretending not to know anything about the New Hampshire Advantage Coalition" thing was what really did her in.
Especially when it came to discussing, uh, Tammy Simmons's position with said group.
Who cares.
This is news? People post crazy and heated posts all of the time (dailykos comes to mind). Now if this person posted something that would incite immediate harm on another person then I would agree that this person should be reportd and banned. However, Bluehampshire bloggers you do quite a bit of posting on other sites so "clean out the sand" and stop your whining.
If this is news and every bit of silliness is going to get reported then I think politickernh.com needs to do a little expose on Representative Nancy Warren (D) from Rochester(arrested 4 times), who still is a current rep and planning to run for re-election.
How Amusing
Honestly, leave it to a bunch of overzealous bureaucratic liberals to start "banning" people that trespass onto their ivory towers.
Is it just me or...?
Is it just me or are these pressers from Democrats becoming more whiny and more trivial and embarrassing as time goes by? I mean, using press releases to whine about every little thing they perceive as a transgression against their agenda such as citing 'unethical' support of lowering taxes, is really hysterically funny. This is true especially when you consider that Ray Buckley, the master of dirty tricks and nastiness, never minded calling up some little old lady and harassing her for an LTE he did not like...or worse. He constantly posts under pseudonyms (his writing style is obvious) and he's the head of the party!!!!
So big deal, a Republican posts a response to an attack on a perfectly legal and good effort by a group to institute a tax cap. I don't see the crime in that... or, taunting them with asking for more info, all done in fun. What you say, Demcrats are so uptight they can't have fun? I agree with gmcc -- what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Whoever posts comments has every right to do so as a citizen with an opinion, no matter who they work for. Crybabies. Wah wah wah!
What did you in..
I think your hypocrisy about someone asking you a question, which they have every right to do, is what did YOU in....
If this post is indicative of the intellectual quality of NH D's
then we have nothing to fear (From the Blue Hampshire thread on Tammy):
At the risk of being tedious, (4.00 / 2)
let me take this opportunity to say that people who want to cut taxes to reduce government services are very likely lazy and cheap. What they'd prefer is for someone else to do the necessary work to keep our society functioning and for them to do it for free.
This does not strike me as a moral attitude.
I think we need to redefine "moral" in terms of socially responible behavior, rather than personal behavior.

I mean seriously, what does that even mean? People want to cut taxes to receive free services? Morals shouldn't be about what an individual does? WTF mate?
The devil is in the details,
The devil is in the details, and the details don't add up to a whole lot of anything. If the rules are meant to include all positions similar to that of a campaign staffer then they should clearly say so. Since they do not, I don't see what the big deal is about Simmons posting under a screen name. I would think if she were really trying to hide, she would have used a ficticious email address on her account as well.
The supposedly deceptive posts read more like rhetorical questions in this readers opinion. "Who is Dan McGuire?" does not mean "I don't know Dan McGuire."
As far as Zandra Rice Jones claiming that Simmons is "not just an ordinary staffer", she is right about that. Simmons is more effective than the ordinary staffer.
NH
I see my post was deleted.
I still don't see any proof of the accusation that she is a paid campaign staffer.
Censorship!
Blue NH
I wonder if Blue NH would allow access to their IP logs and other hidden information to see if any Democrats are doing the same things?
While I'm not supporting what Tammy did here I certainly think that it's telling that rather then focusing on topics and real issues the democrats have begun resorting to nothing more then personal attacks on everyone and anyone who disagrees with their views. Here's another example of this...

The "highly edited video" he comments on is a single shot video with no cuts.
Record spending, borrowing to cover the deficit, passing laws stripping us of our freedoms, pushing for income tax etc etc etc... of course they would rather discuss people who oppose them then the issues!
To Lildog
I still don't know why my other post was deleted because know for a fact that Ray Buckley does post to blogs all the time.
And I know firsthand what it's like to be the subject of one of his phone calls.
So what I posted was all true.
Guess what? No one has kicked Ray off the blogs where he posts.
But there is a double standard apparently, even here on PolitickerNH.
Ms. Simmons has the right to post her opinion if she wishes.
She works for a non-profit so the accusations are unfounded.
Besides, is there some law that says certain people can't post an opinion on a forum that allows anonymity?
I hope someone will answer these questions for me instead of merely deleting my posts.
From BlueHampshire's own
From BlueHampshire's own rules:
Basic Blogging Etiquette
In addition to the standard custom described in Rating a Comment (above), two other points of basic blogging etiquette are understood on this community based site. Although the site administrators are not anonymous, most bloggers choose to be so, and it is more or less standard operating procedure in the world of blogging. Therefore, revealing the identity of a user on this site without his or her permission will result in immediate banning. Secondly, and relatedly, posting someone else's private contact information without express permission will result straightaway in the same sanction.
