Obama wants Fla., Mich. delegates given ‘full vote’ at convention

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has sent a letter requesting that the Florida and Michigan delegates be given a "full vote" at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, but the Obama campaign says his letter does not change his position on New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary.

Currently, Florida and Michigan's delegates have half-a-vote because their states violated the DNC's primary rules.

"As these delegates go about the important business of the Convention, I believe Party unity calls for the delegates from Florida and Michigan to be able to participate fully alongside the delegates from the other states and territories," Obama wrote to the Democratic National Convention's Credentials Committee.

Sand Abrevaya, Obama's New Hampshire communications director, said Obama still supports the New Hampshire primary.

"Senator Obama is committed to protecting New Hampshire's first in the nation status," Abrevaya wrote in a press release. "Today's letter on seating Michigan and Florida's delegates does not change Senator Obama's position on the nominating process. Barack Obama is a strong believer in the tradition of New Hampshire being the first primary."

Wow

So now you want to count them, wonder boy? Every single move this man makes is guided my cool and calculated political opportunism. So much for a "different kind of politics".

Obama Rocks

Imagine the concept -- giving the voters who vote a say in their government -- in this case, primary voters a say in their party's convention.

Yes, Obama does want a "different kind of politics." Good for him, and good for the election process and democracy. This man should be President.

I'm really excited to be

I'm really excited to be supporting Barack Obama, and I think he DOES offer a new direction when it comes to politics. I am thankful that I will be able to vote for him for president. He is the first candidate I felt I should donate to, he is using our donations wisely and his campaign is fabulous to work with. Thank you !

It's amusing to me that

It's amusing to me that sheeple actually buy this charlatan's act. Wow, another profiles in courage award for him in now flip-flopping his opinion that the delegates be counted. Very brave given that the numbers today give him the nomination. Funny how he didn't stand up for their inclusion many months ago when it was in doubt. If they should count now, why shouldn't they have counted then? It's a rhetorical question of course because we know why. Typical hypocritical, leftist libtard.

McCain's NEW Politics

Congrats Mark,
Seems McCain has adopted your style:

"It's amusing to me that sheeple actually buy this charlatan's act."

"Typical hypocritical, leftist libtard."

If we sink to that level, America loses. Have fun on the Low Road Express.

No Excuse

The fact that some of you are excusing this blatant political panderng is downright scary. How do you not see it!!??? It's right in front of your face. It's the brutal truth about Obama.

Outraged, sheeple like Jack

Outraged, sheeple like Jack and his ilk don't see blatant pandering, political foolishness and hypocricy. Jack, the ads to which you are undoubtedly referring are quite accurate. The senator from Illinois is, just like the empty-headed twits flashed on the screen, all flash and no substance. Right now, he's attempting to re-invent himself and the press is happily playing along. Bottom line, he's an empty suit, teh most liberal senator out there and the American public is starting to see right through him. The fact that McCain has pulled even with him despite doing next to nothing on the campaign trail is proof of that.

Oh and BTW, Jack, don't waste your time trying to paint me as a McCain supporter. I think they're both unworthy of the office and that's based solely on POLICY and POSITION-nothing else. Sheeple who jump on the obama train cannot claim the same as obama has not articulated anything close to coherent policy positions. Regardless of what happens in November, we will not have the best options for whom to vote and THAT is the real problem.

The Real Problem

I just did a quick scan of the SoS site and I don't see you running for any office, Mark. http://www.sos.nh.gov/

The real problem is, you aren't really doing anything, but shooting off your pie hole.

Pssssst. Do something.

08/04/08 11:38 am

My bad

08/04/08 11:43 am

I am doing something Jack.

I am doing something Jack. I'm running a business and supporting candidates for lower office as your stellar detective work has unearthed. Wow, we're all very impressed.

08/04/08 11:48 am

I aim to please

But then, don't all us sheeple, typical hypocritical, leftist libtards do that?

My mother's first husband was a Poirier. Maybe we are related? I have half sibs that are Poiriers.

Such is America.

Just sayin...

I would rather be a sheeple than a creeple.

Jack-- no point trying to

Jack-- no point trying to have a dialogue with Mark. His posts offer the same type of empty rhetoric he claims Obama offers. They tell us more about him as a person than they do about Obama: Somewhat lacking in critical thinking skills, he believes that hurling tired epithets is a suitable substitute for reasoned argument.

I have to feel sorry for Mark, though. His small business probably isn't doing that well because he's devoting so much time to being outraged on the internet during work hours.

Liberals, Liberals and Liberals

Just a quick note to Hauk. You do know that the first sign of losing an argument is resorting to an ad hominem attack. You just lost.

Actually, Mark Poirier probably represents a somewhat silenced, frustrated and aware minority group. They are all that is left who actually care about the pathetic state into which our society has fallen. Mark and his company actually produce something of value for this nation. He creates value along with others who manufacture, build objects of worth, and create opportunities for others by providing jobs. Perhaps you should do so well and also have time to become an activist in your community.

Barak Obama is an arrogant, elist, out-of-touch media poster child. Look at his wife and tell me they represent the core values of traditional America. They don't. McCain is just a different side of the same coin. Mark Poirier's alleged lack of critical thinking skills appear to have given him a level of insight your lofty intellect seems to have missed.

What you characterize as tired epithets are simply devices that provide for an economy of words. Tough to dialogue with people like you Hauk. You display character traits of a shallow and rabid liberal whose first instinct is to attack the opposition and avoid an examination of the facts. You are obviously emotionally and intellectually incapable of dialogue, as well.

Lastly, the Poirier family is an honorable one and they have provided housing, clothing, and the basic needs for many who've worked at their enterprises over the years. You are out of your class when you criticize families like Mark Poirier. They are the last vestige of a once great nation that is now bereft of the dignity, wisdom and energy it once had thanks to the degenerate and pathetic liberal parasites like you and Obama. You and your ilk have completely destroyed our society.

Do us all a favor and spend a little more on your credit cards at Walmart and Home Depot. Make sure free trade stays high on your liberal agenda and tell Obama the you'd be happy to tear down the Texas border fence, hide your American flag, and then pay for the job using the new Amero. You'll make a great new World Citizen.
