NHAC volunteer charged with assault

A volunteer collecting signatures for the New Hampshire Advantage Coalition has been charged with assaulting a disabled senior citizen on July 28th, The Concord Monitor is reporting.

Eric Green was gathering signatures in Concord when he began arguing with a 65-year old man over taxes. According to a police report Green pushed the man over the curb and the man fell to the ground. Green then left the scene but police were able to track him down. An arrest warrant was issued for Green and when Green failed to turn himself in Concord police arrested Green at his home.

"It's unfortunate an alleged incident occurred involving one of our volunteers," NHAC Chairman Mike Biundo told The Monitor. "If it did occur, it's not something that would be condoned at all."

Only Brattleboro.....

Only Brattleboro, Vermont tried arresting President Bush for pushing Senior Citizens down for the last 8 years!

Hummm.....Keep New Hampshire New Hampshire, Save Our State, Keep the New Hampshire Advantage!

Yeah, these are the people I want to be in control of our state!

So crazy right wingers, keep beating up Senior Citizens, you do it in spirit, might as well do it litterally too!

This is probably another

This is probably another "Free State Project" whacko. Mike Biundo, who isn't a free stater and is actually a pretty good guy, made a mistake by getting mixed up with some real screwballs.

It's a shame, because Biundo, while very, very conservative, almost always handles himself as a gentleman, and this will unfortunately make him look bad.

Free Stater?

How do you know it is a free stater? What should Biundo do, ask them to see there free state card at the door?

Not a free-stater

Eric Green is definitely not a free stater. For one thing, I am a free-stater, and I know them all. The conclusive proof is that Mr. Green was also arrested for simple assault in 2000, according to the article. NH was not picked as the place for free-staters until 2003. Nice try, though.

Free-staters hate violence, and would never engage in it except in self-defense. Your attempts to libel all of them like this are patently ridiculous. Rather like me saying that all Democrats are morons who never picked up an economics textbook, and who cannot seem to be faithful to their wives.

See, not fair, is it?

What I find so strange is ...

how the Concord Monitor would do this story and yet would edit out facts from an opinion piece about a former Concord City Councilor - Kathy Rogers, who is currently running for Merrimack County Attorney - targeting a resident with a police investigation over possession of a public document!

haha

It cracks me up that people think that Mike Biundo, the head of a large organization, would vet every volunteer who shows up to help out on a project.

Also, the idea that someone must, by virtue of being a FSP person, be crazy. Ed and Elaine Brown were pretty crazy, and they were homegrown as far as I know. Maybe that candidate who faked his own disappearance is a free state project member as well, since he's strange.

I know Mike. He conducts

I know Mike. He conducts himself as a gentleman, personally and professionally. The alleged perpetrator is a despicable individual who can't control his emotions. Sad day for Mike, and I hope this incidenr reflects poorly on Mr. Green, and not the rest of the others at NHAC who act accordingly.

NHAC has hundreds of

NHAC has hundreds of volunteers this no more poorly reflects on Biundo than does the volunteer for Paul Hodes who has arrested before last election reflect on the Congressman.

This entire thing is

This entire thing is ridiculous.

Agent Provocateurs

This is a typical tactic against NO voters - do anything you can to provoke a situation to try to make them look like criminals so as to discredit their efforts.

Been there myself way too many times...the media can spin all it wants, to the point of libelousness and not retract even in the face of police documents showing otherwise.

Sorry people, VOTING NO on more taxes is NOT criminal, it's OUR RIGHT, no matter how hard you try to litigate or instigate your opponents into a bad light.

But the AP story was the most telling, as its title was something along the lines of 'despite assault charges, petition gatherers continue'.

Nice try spenders, but provoking someone to push you for not leaving when told isn't going to result in freedom of speech being suspended...did you think it would?

That's the Democrats: If you have no legs to stand on, then try to INSTIGATE and LITIGATE!!!

Ha

Free Stater?

What a joke. Eric is no Free Stater.

He's lived here all his life as far as I know.

I doubt this 65 year old was handicapped... if you are yelling in someone's face, and won't stand down, you get what you deserved, a shove. Big deal. Not really a criminal act at all.

And it was your nutcase liberal who faked the accident - Gary Dodds. Then we had Jesse Burchfield, who stole money from Burt Cohen and fled, and Geoff Wetrosky who voted illegally and after being given shelter for his stolen signs by Lawyer Sullivan, fled, and then there was the Dems who broke into their own HQ and stole a computer that "might" have had kiddie porn on it, and the list goes on and on and on....whew.

Like I said, if you haven't a leg to stand on, accuse, instigate, associate, and litigate to try to discredit people.

Or maybe like Buckley often used to do, call up the person and harass them to death on the phone..
