State senate candidate Doug Kruse (R-Manchester): Photo credit: PolitickerNH.comState Senate candidate Doug Kruse (R-Manchester) launched with his campaign Wednesday with the theme that "it's time to choose Kruse."
Kruse, an employee of Spectrum Marketing, is running against state Sen. Betsi DeVries (D-Manchester) for the district 18 seat.
The Manchester school board member said he is running to lower government spending in Concord.
"Betsi DeVries and her friends have undergone an unprecedented spending spree," Kruse said. "It is time for change in Concord; it is time to choose Kruse."
U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) began the event by telling supporters that Kruse has more experience than presumptive Democratic presidential nominee U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).
"Doug is a little younger than me but he still has more experience than Barack Obama and so do I," Sununu said.
Kruse also mentioned Obama at the beginning of his remarks.
"With all due respect to the Illinois Senator, but I think we're fired up and ready to go."
Kruse finished his remarks by arguing that he has beaten DeVries before.
"In the last two elections, in which our names have been on the ballot, I have gotten more votes than DeVries both times."
Earlier today Kruse announced his campaign leadership team.
His team is co-chaired by Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta, Executive Councilor Raymond Wieczorek and Manchester School Board member Debra Gagnon-Langton. Kruse's steering committee includes state Rep. Will Infantine, former gubernatorial candidate Ovide Lamontagne, Manchester Aldermen Real Pinard and Mike Garrity, and New Hampshire Advantage Coalition Chairman Mike Biundo.

Phone Jammer?
Isn't Spectrum the place that prints all the attack and smear mail for the Republicans? Isn't Spectrum the place that convicted dirty trickster McGee work?
Doesn't Kruse understand what a boon this information is to Betsi's campaign? What Democratic donor won't give to her to keep the Kruse clan out of office?
More Than A Slogan Needed
I know Betsi. I like Betsi. It will take much more than a semi-cute (and quite weird) slogan to match her class.
Just the facts: More people
Just the facts:
More people voted for Doug Kruse in the past two elections than voted for Betsi Devries.
Choose Kruse.....
Just the Facts...
GK, please share with an example when the aldermanic candidate received more votes than the school board candidate in Manchester's ward 8.
If you can't, you might want to reconsider using the phoney rationale for Doug's race.
Conflict of Interest?
With Spectrum doing so much work for other political candidates, how will Doug be able to be a senator?
If senator x has a bill to do y and y isn't good for district 18 but senator x uses Spectrum for $40,000 worth of business why wouldn't senator x expect Doug to be with him?
If you think about it, the conflicts could be endless...
Someone wants a bill passed...viola!...use Spectrum for some business!
Wouldn't the ethics rules require Doug to obstain on any bill effecting a Spectrum client?
Good grief this is a mess.
Manchester Schools
When Guinta named Doug chairman of the Finance Committee Manchester had three "failing" schools. Now the entire school district is failing.
Now Doug's promising to do for Concord what he had done to Manchester?
Great. More failed policies.
