The League of Conservation Voters has endorsed U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter's (D-Rochester) re-election campaign.
Gene Karpinski, president of LCV, praised Shea-Porter's stance on the environment and commitment to renewable energy sources.
"As New Hampshire suffers from high gas prices, leaders like Carol Shea-Porter have the skill and the foresight to help families deal with skyrocketing costs," Karpinski said in a press release. "In her two years in Congress, she has stood in strong support of clean energy, clean air, clean water, and safe, healthy food for New Hampshire's families."
This year Shea-Porter obtained a 90 percent rating from the group.
"New energy and global warming are critical environmental and national security issues," Shea-Porter said. "I will continue to fight the grip of the oil companies and their lobbyists and to work towards a clean energy future for our country. I thank the thousands of members of the League of Conservation Voters for this endorsement. With their help, we will create a cleaner, safer, more prosperous New Hampshire."
The endorsement was made at Portsmouth's Prescott Park.
