The Union Leader has endorsed Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua) in the 2nd Congressional District Republican primary.
"Horn, a former newspaper columnist and radio talk show host, understands the issues of the day very well. And she comes down on the right side of them, too," the editorial board wrote. "We found her views to be well-reasoned and articulate. She understands the need to reduce spending and shrink the size of government, and not just around the edges. She is a strong advocate of tackling the runaway entitlement spending that leads to high taxes and slowed economic growth."
Horn is competing against Grant Bosse (R-Hillsboro), Jim Steiner (R-Concord) and state Sen. Bob Clegg (R-Hudson).
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Union Leader. To beat Paul Hodes, our nominee needs to be different. We need a new voice, a new approach, a new way of doing things," Horn said in a statement. "Someone who has dealt directly with the problems caused by Washington and will bring a common sense approach to solving these problems. In 2008, I am the only person who can beat Paul Hodes.”
Earlier this week the paper endorsed John Stephen (R-Manchester) in the 1st congressional district Republican primary.
