Cullen says convention should proceed as scheduled

The chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party says the Republican convention should not be delayed because of Hurricane Gustav, which is threatening the Gulf Coast.

"The answer is no," Fergus Cullen told PolitickerNH.com. "Should schools in New Hampshire not open on Tuesday because of the hurricane? It would be an overreaction."

The National Hurricane Center is currently predicting the Hurricane, upgraded to a category 4 hurricane, will hit Louisiana sometime on Monday.

Cullen also said that Gulf State governors will put their gubernatorial duties over national politics.

"The governors in the states that might be affected are closely monitoring the situation. They will put their states first."

Once again Fergus just

Once again Fergus just dosen't get it! If I may put personal views aside for a moment, it is bad politics to go on without giving a serious look into how it would this plays out. Split screens on CNN and Fox of an arena full of partying Republicans and destruction and strive on the other side seems like it would come off a little insensitive don't you think?

They didn't care after Katrina, why care now?

Ferg, Ferg, Ferg!

Does the term "Open mouth insert foot" mean anything to you?

There is the great calender of "Bush Wisdoms" Now we will need to start one with Ferg!

I personally find it very enjoyable though, so please keep giving the press your well thought out statements!

Ferg? Could you tell us how you feel about the people of our state who are on fixed incomes and how they will heat their homes this winter? I bet that would be a dandy!

Tell us more about Senator Obama's stage!

So I know the GOP didn't care about N.O. the last time around, so it shouldn't be a shock that you would rather go on with your own good time than worry about a bunch of poor minorities! Heck, I bet there are even some elderly down there who are being affected! High times to have a convention! Now where did I leave my funny hat!?!
