A Saint Anselm College poll shows U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) and U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) beating their Republican opponents.
This is the first poll that has shown Shea-Porter ahead of former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro).
Shea-Porter is ahead of Bradley 42 percent to 35 percent in the 1st Congressional District. While, Hodes is beating Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua) 35 percent to 18 percent in the 2nd Congressional District. However, the poll finds that 45 percent of voters are undecided in the Hodes-Horn race and 21 percent are undecided in the Shea-Porter-Bradley race.
The poll also has good news for Gov. John Lynch (D-Hopkinton) who is ahead of his opponent, state Sen. Joe Kenney (R-Wakefield) 73 percent to 7 percent.
The polling was conducted from September 25-30 and has a margin of error of 5 percentage points for the congressional districts.

Absurd and Ridiculous
I think St. A's needs to stop doing polls and stick to being a College. None of their polls are accurate, a gross mis-sampling. No poll has ever shown CSP beating Jeb, this is the only one. Also, I highly doubt that Joe Kenney is at only 7%, we will probably end up with about 33-35%.
Is there a mouse in your pocket?
"We"? Hi Casey! Sorry things are going so badly for you! Poor Joe is not even much of a sacrificial lamb!
117% of respondents doubt St. A's poll credibility
That 7% figure casts the credibility of the entire the St. A's poll into serious doubt, and that obviously goes for their pres, senate and congressional numbers as well. There's such a thing as outliers, but really, I think most pollsters would have looked at that number and junked the whole thing rather than release it and risk lasting damage to one's reputation.

This is not the only one
The Concord Monitor Poll, conducted by Research 2000, had Carol Shea-Porter up by 1.
Margin of error was 6%, so not the best poll either, but R2K is a reputable outfit, and it is factually inaccurate to state that the St. Anselm poll is the first to show a lead for Shea-Porter.

Also, the UNH poll (conducted in
Faux Hampshire) only had Bradley up 45 to 42.
Maybe you guys should read some other papers besides the Union Leader once in a while! It's not like this info was hard to find on the tubes :-)
Hey Fergus...
Today I got a full color giant postcard from Senator Gallus. One side had a picture with Lynch and a long list of his votes with Lynch. The other side featured a photo of Susan Lynch with Gallus...maybe mail like this is why Kenney is at 7%.
Ludicrous
This is an idiotic poll. The figures just don't add up, and clearly there has been some sampling errors here.
Kenney is surely not shown winning in any poll, let's be honest. But even if half (or even MORE) of Republicans vote for Lynch, Kenney will still garner far more than 7%. This is an absurdity. St Anselm College should be ashamed of themselves. Honestly.
Danger zone
Kenney is a complete non-entity and Bradley is stuck in reverse. Unbelievably, Hodes appears to be in trouble as well.
Need MORE proof? CSP up in another poll.
CSP is up in a second poll now. She's beating Jeb 50-41 with a 4% MOE in the new Survey USA poll.
People are seeing how hard she works for us. We need her and her courage down in Washington.

Funny how it always goes...
When the polls aren't going for your candidate, then the polls are unreliable. This happens whatever side of the aisle you are on. Ain't politics fun?
phoney polls again

Polls
I always enjoy Mr. Cullen's comments. Sorry the polls are so painful for you, Fergus, but you need to face reality. The economy has gone to hell in the proverbial handbasket, and all of your candidates support the Bush economic policies to a greater or lesser degree. That is why their poll numbers are tanking, and why NH will be an even "bluer" state come November than it has in the past. As for Kenney, he is a total non-entity with nothing different to offer except "keeping NH, NH", which he finds as impossible to explain as the rest of do to understand it.
