Andy Sanborn Receives "A" Rating from NRA
Janeway silent on Second Amendment rights
(Henniker) State Senate candidate Andy Sanborn's status as a defender of gun owners' rights has been cemented. Sanborn received an impressive "A" rating from the National Rifle Association, while Harold Janeway received a rating of "?". An "A" rating may be awarded to a non-incumbent candidate who "has expressed strong support for NRA positions on Second Amendment issues". A candidate receiving a "?" rating, in the NRA's words, "Failed to answer NRA-PVF candidate questionnaire, often an indication of indifference, if not outright hostility, to gun owners' and sportsmen's rights".
"These ratings represents a clear difference in where Harold Janeway and I stand on the issues," Sanborn said. "I am proud to defend gun owners' rights, where Janeway won't tell gun owners what he believes."
Sanborn has received high praise for his defense of the Second Amendment throughout his campaign. In August, Sanborn received an "A" rating from the New Hampshire Firearms Coaltion. Conversely, Janeway did not answer the coalition's survey. This is consistent with Janeway's record of silence on important issues. Last week, Janeway recently said in a closed-door meeting of Democratic activists that some taxes are too low, but refuses to share that thought with voters district-wide.
"Harold Janeway doesn't want to tell mainstream voters what he really believes. This is what separates us as candidates," Sanborn continued. "We have an obligation to speak to all voters, not just our friends. I've been upfront in telling all voters where I stand, where Harold Janeway has been silent."
