State GOP wins suit over voter access

MANCHESTER--The New Hampshire Republican Party has won a lawsuit filed against the state of New Hampshire. The suit alleged that Republican observers were not allowed to stand near tables for same-day registration voters.

Observers will now be allowed to have "reasonable access" to the registration tables.

"We're not sure if it was a misunderstanding, or a discrepancy in the law, but the judge has ruled in our favor," said Jim Merrill, a Republican attorney.

Merrill said that at voting locations throughout the state, observers were not allowed to stand near tables that voters were using to register to vote. Merrill said that under the state's Right to Know Law, election observers are allowed to monitor the registration process.
