Sununu: $7.9 million dollars of ads to attack me!
By Dante ScalaFollowing up on our last post regarding the role of national party campaign committees in the Shaheen-Sununu race:
In an e-mail today to supporters titled “It’s Time to Fight Back,” Senator John Sununu writes:
“Seeking to bolster Jeanne Shaheen's campaign, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, headed by New York's other very liberal Senator, Chuck Schumer, has pre-bought approximately $7.9 million dollars of television ads to begin in September. Yes, $7.9 million dollars of ads to attack me!”
If this proves out, Team Sununu must be hoping that National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman John Ensign is twisting the arms of his colleagues to fill the NRSC coffers. Last month, Ensign promised to match dollar-for-dolllar any DSCC buy.

Oh, John Sununu...
Oh, John Sununu -- give us a break. As if you and yours aren't spending millions of dollars attacking Jeanne Shaheen.
And I remember full well how another John Sununu waited until the last eight days of a primary election some decades ago before hitting television and smashing his fellow Republican Gubernatorial opponents, who were unprepared to match.
We can anticipate that won't happen to Jeanne Shaheen. Unless, of course, there's another "phone scam" in prep. In fact, why not use some of those dollars going to your PAC through your scare tactics to run ads pledging that no one connected with your campaign will scam the voters again?
i'm tired of "big oil"
Well Jim, we're also pretty sick of the Shaheen dummys talk about "big scary oil" when in fact Sen. Obama voted for the same "tax breaks" to "big scary oil" that Sununu did.
The bottom line is Shaheen FAILED OUR STATE as Gov and she will FAIL US AGAIN in the Senate.
She Can't Buy Competence
If the Dems are as good at running ads as they are at running Congress, Sununu has nothing to worry about.
Toe-to-Toe he'll crush her on the issues.
