It's the same, but different

It's the same, but different

In the last post, we showed how very little has changed in the Sununu-Shaheen rematch (although we still have six and a half weeks for something to change).

Is anything different between now and then? Yes.

  • 95,477 additional registered "undeclareds" on New Hampshire's voter rolls since November 2002
  • 82,142 additional registered Democrats
  • 17,716 additional registered Republicans

Or put another way:

  • 9 percent of all additional voters since 2002 are registered Republicans.
  • 42 percent are registered Democrats.
  • And 49 percent registered themselves "undeclared."

Sweet -- "The Perfect Storm" Ahead?

Sweet observations, Dante. Plus the fact that the enthusiasm and the motivating reasons to vote are on the Democratic side. I think "The Perfect Storm" is shaping up for the Democrats to win again on November 4th, even better than Democrats did in 2006.

But -- of course I could be wrong. The fascinating thing about politics is that just about anything can happen, and in politics six weeks is a mighty long time.

Dante check your math

According to the SOS website the 11/02 numbers and the 8/8/08 numbers are as follows:

GOP 02: 253,504 GOP 08: 268,108

Dem 02: 176,634 Dem 08: 263,217

Und 02: 260,021 Und 08: 332,217

Doing the math the actual increases are:

GOP +14,604

Dem +86,583

Und +72,196

It appears one of your interns may have given you bad information.

Percentages are even more impressive!

Using the Secretary of State's numbers the percent of increase by party in voter registration since November 2002 is:

Democrats 50%

Undeclareds 42%

Republicans 8%

Don't blame the interns!

Math Whizz,

No reason to blame the interns. I used January (post-primary) 2008 numbers, not August numbers.

Since January, Democrats have grown more than 4,000 voters, Republicans have dropped 3,000.

Undeclared voters have dropped about 23,000 since January. Perhaps the voter rolls have been expunged of inactive voters?

more cheating

I can't wait until Nov 4th, when the Democrats come out in full force from MA, ME, and VT, to take advantage of NH's lenient (read: suicidal) same-day-registration laws.

Just like Hillary took the NH primary by using a legal loophole to block Obama's GOTV operation, and busing in dozens and dozens of union members, students, and others from out of state and driving them to multiple polling locations, the Dems will be doing this again for the general election.

This Democratic Party fraud is sadly out in the open, where NH's same-day registration laws went from a joke, to frighteningly dangerous to our electoral system.

The 23,000 undeclared dropped from the voting rolls is a good indication of Democratic cheating in effect... there are probably hundreds if not thousands more that we haven't found yet. How many of those are multiple registrations or fake registrations from the same person?

I hope you felons go to jail and are never allowed to vote again!
