Obama NH campaign announces 'Former McCain Supporters for Obama'

Bette Bramante voted for U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in 2000, but this time around she is backing the presidential campaign of U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

"Supporting the 2008 McCain was never even a consideration for me. The two McCains are vastly different, and the times are different, as well,” said Bramante. “For me, Senator Obama represents America's success, generosity and compassion, and above all, his leadership will bring the opportunity to achieve our dreams within the grasp of each American."

The Democratic presidential nominee's New Hampshire campaign announced on Thursday that Bramante, a small business owner and former teacher, is one of four co-chairs of "Former McCain Supporters for Obama," a group that will reach out to other former McCain supporters.

The other co-chairs include retired Rear Admiral John Hutson of Bow, who was a registered Republican until he changed his party affiliation in October 2007 in order to vote for Obama in the primary. Michael Hill, a former state representative and Republican Deputy Speaker of the House, was also a McCain supporter in 2000 and now supports Obama. Barbara Pressly -- a former state senator and representative -- held a house party for McCain's 2000 campaign, but served as co-chair of Nashua for Obama during the state's primary campaign.

Hysterically funny!

These liberals (all 3 of them) do not know quite what to do with the sheer joy of the GOP having Sarah chosen for the VP.

After all, liberal women are only for LIBERAL women, not ALL women... they are such hypocrites.

And if they were truly liberal, they would eschew a blatant RACIST like Obama.

These people were never 'Republicans' either.

If you are voting for Obama you are a socialist or worse.

It is very dangerous to contemplate an open racist who wants control of world government. It is too much like Hitler for my liking...

You know, maybe if you post

You know, maybe if you post that comment a few more times, someone might take you seriously. Or, you know, not.

Honestly, though, Hitler? Racist? Please. If you've got nothing substantive or relevant to say (or a single fact to back up your uninformed opinion, for that matter) then please kindly stop.

Barack Obama is not some fringe candidate upon whom you can bestow which ever mindless label you choose. If you honestly think that "if you are voting for Obama you are a socialist or worse", then you've been severely misled. Your apparent contempt for a man of such class speaks volumes about your own character, not his.

Obama mama

Yah, "liberal women are only for LIBERAL women, not ALL women... they are such hypocrites."

You're confused. "LIBERAL women" do generally support the interests of ALL women. CONSERVATIVE politicians (whatever gender) generally do not. So LIBERAL women generally do not support CONSERVATIVE politicians, whatever their gender. That's the point of feminism--the gender of a politician is irrelevant. Supporting the interests of women is NOT.

I love it how you perpetuate these lies about Obama. What are your sources, Jerome Corsi and Rush Limbaugh? You're so sucked up by the fear-mongering Republican machine you can't even think straight.

I think Obama is at the very least, a socialist.

Mandatory national service sounds socialist to me?

So does government run heath care.

Government run Pre-K.
A government run teachers university.
Expansion of the welfare state.
Government control of energy.
Increased taxes on income and profit.
Mandatory redistribution of that income.

If I'm not in a position to decide how to spend the money I earned and the government is increasingly reducing my options, both in how much income I can keep and where I am permitted to spend it, why is that not socilist?

I'll agree Obama is not a hard power top down control freak like Hitler, or Stalin, but he is defineitley a soft power socialist. He has not one program that does not somehow expand government intrusion at the expense of others. In the end we end up with two classes of people; those who have to pay, and those who get to receive.

It's not governments job to decide these things for us.

It's kind of funny to see

It's kind of funny to see this. I've voted Republican my entire life, and after Palin's speech last night, and watching the divisive politics of my own party during this convention (not to mention the past 8 years), I've decided that the party no longer represents my ideals.

Unfortunately, it seems no party represents my ideals entirely anymore, but I'll be voting for Barack Obama, since I believe he represents the kind of change I think we need to get back on track. I know he's got the right intentions, I just hope he can do it. Lord knows McCain can't.

The Path To....

The Path to Hell Was Paved With Good Intentions.
And as for 'Divisive Politics', what is more divisive than Obama making promises he knows are impossible to keep. You're right, that doesn't make you divisive, it makes you a lier.

Mccain hasn't lied?

Mccain hasn't lied? Paleeeeze! His choice of Palin? Paleeeeeeze ! Mccain will bring us ALL to the gates of hell when he goes to catch Bin Laden.
If you republicans wanted change you should have elected Johnny back in 00' because this John of today is not the John of the past. Change is moving mountains of people behind your message and policies, which Obama has done. McPander says he's still a maverick, uh more like John Bush

HEY: I'm working along those same lines, and have just set up a blog to track my conversion from McCain to Obama:

Q: NH, do you know what really is hysterically funny?

A: The Katie Couric interview that your alaskan hockey mom did. OMG, this is what the GOP is so enthusiastic about? Gimme a freagin' break. It's quite apparent that the conservative mantra of Country First is bogus. You people are and have always been "Party First". American's have already been subjected to an utter ditz running things, we don't need another one. Another thing, how about some honesty in your campaign instead of the same, tired scare tactics of old.
