Donahue named NHIOP political director

"As NHIOP political director, she will continue her key role at the Institute, analyzing national, state and local races and serving as a resource to the NHIOP and Saint Anselm students," a press release states.

Gardner to host primary forum

New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner will be hosting a forum on the presidential nominating process.

The forum takes place tomorrow at Saint Anselm College's New Hampshire Institute of Politics at 1:00pm.

Gardner will be joined by Secretaries of State from Rhode Island, Iowa and Nevada.

Senate passes 'Granny D bill'

Yesterday, the "Granny D bill" passed the New Hampshire State Senate by a voice vote.

The bill would establish a commission to study the feasibility of public financing for state elections.

Secretary of State Bill Gardner, House Speaker Terri Norelli and Senate President Sylvia Larsen would appoint commission members.

Gov. John Lynch is expected to sign the bill.

61 percent voter turnout in NH Primary

Turnout in last month's New Hampshire presidential primary was 61 percent, newly released numbers suggest.

New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner told the Associated Press that there was indeed record turnout and over 61,000 people registered to vote on primary day.
