"I didn't want to see a discussion of candidates for vice president without showing the House of Representatives... I just wanted people to be aware of the extraordinary credentials of Chet Edwards. And I hope he will be the nominee," Pelosi said earlier this month, according to CNN.

Edwards is scheduled to help launch the "Veterans and Military Families for Carol Shea-Porter" group in Manchester. He is also the chairman of the House Appropriations subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs.

New Hampshire political candidates were given the opportunity to revive that tradition in Belmont today, but only Jim Steiner (R-Concord) took to the stump to speak.

"I will take the chance and bare the stump," Steiner said. "If I wear this yellow jacket there's no question that the sun will always shine."
