Former state Rep. Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua) has decided to run for the state senate.

LaFlamme will be competing for the seat being abandoned by state Sen. David Gottesman (D-Nashua).

Former state Rep. Paul LaFlamme says he is "seriously leaning" towards running for the state senate.

"I've been considering running for a couple of weeks now and now that Harry has made his decision I'm seriously leaning towards running," LaFlamme told PolitickerNH.com. "I've got to talk to some people and will make a decision within a day-or-two."

Citing business obligations, Harry Haytayan (R-Nashua) has decided not to run for the state senate.

Rumors were circulating that Haytayan would run for the seat now held by state Sen. David Gottesman (D-Nashua).

Nashua health care worker Peggy Gilmour (D-Nashua) has decided to run for the state senate.

Yesterday, Wally Edge reported that Gilmour was going to announce a run for the upper-chamber.

Gilmour will run for David Gottesman's seat, who has decided not to seek re-election.

Inside Edge has learned from a reliable Nashua source Peggy Gilmour of Hollis will be announcing for the state senate in District 12. She will likely have the full support of outgoing state senator David Gottesman. Peggy, an area nurse, is a well known community activist.

State Rep. Suzanne Harvey (D-Nashua) has decided not to run for the state Senate.

We reported earlier this week that Harvey was contemplating a run at state Sen. David Gottesman (D-Nashua) seat; instead Harvey will seek re-election to the House of Representatives.

For Gottesman's seat State Rep. Suzanne Harvey is giving serious consideration to running for the 12th senate district being vacated by Sen. David Gottesman.  Harvey currently represents Nashua Ward 2in the NH House and serves as the Vice Chair of the Science Technology and Energy Committee. 

State Sen. Iris Estabrook (D-Durham)State Sen. Iris Estabrook (D-Durham) has decided not to run for a fourth term.

"I no longer feel I can commit the level of time and energy I believe is necessary to fill this leadership role," Estabrook said in a press release.  "It has been an honor to have served in the New Hampshire Legislature and an experience that will stay with me throughout my life."

Now that state Senator David Gottesman has decided to step down, some Republicans are looking towards Harry Haytayan to take another shot at the seat.  Haytayan won a 3-way primary in 2004 after Jane O’Hearn had announced her retirement, but lost his general election bid against Gottesman by less than 200 votes.
