Sierra Club develops presidential scorecard

The Sierra Club will begin distributing a card to its New Hampshire members that compares the energy plans of presumptive presidential nominees U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

The club focused on whether the plans would take on oil companies, fight global warming, increase fuel economy standards and invest in renewable energy sources.

Energy takes center stage in N.H. senate battle

U.S. Sen. John SununuU.S. Sen. John SununuThe fight for the U.S. Senate has shifted into high-gear with a debate over high energy prices and which candidate offers the best plan to reduce prices.

Both former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) and U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) held conference calls with reporters Thursday to discuss various energy issues.
