Sununu manager says campaign signs have been destroyed

U.S. Sen. John Sununu's campaign manager has e-mailed supporters requesting a donation that will allow the campaign to buy more campaign signs.

Paul Collins, Sununu's campaign manager, told supporters that Sununu signs have been destroyed and defaced throughout the state.

NRSC airs new ad against Shaheen

Sununu disagrees with McCain on fundamentals of economy

U.S. Sen. John Sununu: Senator's Office PhotoU.S. Sen. John Sununu: Senator's Office PhotoU.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) disagrees with his close friend, U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who has been arguing that the foundation of the U.S. economy is sound.

"I think it's very difficult to make a statement about the fundamentals given the significant changes we've seen in the last couple of days," Sununu said on a conference call with reporters, but he added that steps are being taken to strengthen the financial market.

"The Federal Reserve and other central banks have taken the appropriate steps on liquidity," he said. "I think we have an interest rate environment that's going to be important and helpful in the recovery of the real estate market and I do think if we don't allow the tax rates to go back up we have tax rates in place that will, over time, encourage investment activity and longer-term economic growth."

Sununu calls for ‘balanced’ energy plan

U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) is calling for a national energy plan that would reduce historic energy prices.

Sununu said the plan should focus on conservation efforts, investing in renewable energy sources and increasing domestic production of oil.

Shaheen questioned on oil subsidies


SUNAPEE- This morning on WGIR-AM former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) appeared to not know the point of oil subsidies.

“What are the subsidies we are giving them for? I hear you talk about subsidies, I have no idea what these subsidies are for,” radio host Angela Anderson asked Shaheen.

"Well…they are tax breaks,” Shaheen said.

"For?" Anderson asked.

Shaheen hires new press secretary

Jeanne Shaheen's (D-Madbury) senatorial campaign has hired a new press secretary.

Caitlin Legacki is taking over for Alex Reese.

Reese left the Shaeen campaign to do communications work for the New Hampshire Democratic Party's coordinated campaign.

Shaheen adds press secretary

Jeanne Shaheen's senatorial campaign has hired Alex Reese as press secretary.

Reese recently served as the New Hampshire Deputy Communications Director for John Edwards.

He joins a press operation that includes Communications Director Kate Bedingfield, who also handled the press for the New Hampshire Edwards campaign.
