Bosse, Horn fight continues in debate

Republican debate: Photo credit: PolitickerNH.comRepublican debate: Photo credit: PolitickerNH.comNASHUA-The rivalry between Grant Bosse (R-Hillsboro) and Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua) took center stage in a Republican debate at Nashua's City Hall.

Discussing gun rights, Bosse used a quote from Politico to criticize Horn. In the article Horn was quoted as saying she favored "common-sense restrictions to protect kids from guns," a quote that Horn says is wrong.

Rudman honored at campaign finance event

Pictures of Warren Rudman with David Souter and Tom RathPictures of Warren Rudman with David Souter and Tom RathMANCHESTER-Former New Hampshire Republican U.S. Sen. Warren Rudman was honored Tuesday night at an event sponsored by the group Americans for Campaign Reform.

Rudman was honored for his support of campaign reform legislation and service to New Hampshire.

Before the event, guests were treated to a reception that included pictures of Rudman with various friends. One picture included Rudman, former New Hampshire Attorney General Tom Rath and current Supreme Court Justice David Souter.

Bradley announces endorsements

Former Republican Congressman Jeb Bradley announced a slate of people who will form his Leadership Council.

The individuals are tasked with helping Bradley win the Republican primary and eventually beat U.S. Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter.

Limbaugh goes after Rudman

Talk radio show host Rush Limbaugh spent most of his radio show today attacking the conservative credentials of John McCain. To bolster his attack he went directly after former New Hampshire U.S. Senator Warren Rudman who serves as a national co-chair of McCain's campaign. He also goes after New Hampshire native David Souter.

Wesley Powell ran statewide in New Hampshire twelve times during a thirty-year political career

One of the best primaries in New Hampshire history was for the United States Senate in 1950, when Wesley Powell, a 34-year-old World War II veteran challenged 70-year-old incumbent Charles Tobey in the Republican primary.  Powell was the conservative candidate, while Tobey came from the centrist faction of the GOP.
