Military Domestic Propaganda Ban Signed Into Law
GAO to Conduct Investigation in Pentagon Military Analyst Program

Concord, NH--- Congressman Paul Hodes today commended President Bush signing a domestic military propaganda ban into law as part of the 2009 Defense Authorization Act. The Congress passed Congressman Paul Hodes' amendment to the 2009 Defense Authorization Bill to prohibit the Department of Defense (DOD) from engaging in propaganda programs and requiring the GAO to launch an investigation into the DOD Military Analyst Program.

Congressman Hodes Calls on Bush Administration to Answer Questions on Iraqi Oil Revenue

Concord, NH--- Congressman Paul Hodes today called on the Bush Administration to answer questions regarding a new Government Accountability Office (GAO) Report showing that the Iraqi government had produced nearly $90 billion in oil revenue from 2005 to 2007. From 2003 until 2007, the United States spent nearly $48 billion for Iraq’s reconstruction effort. GAO finds that Iraq has spent only 1% of total expenditures to maintain roads, bridges, vehicles, buildings, water and electricity installations, and weapons for security forces.

Latest GAO report finds states are properly preparing for emergency response; however, must strengthen delivery of medical resources in a crisis

 

WASHINGTON - As part of his continued work towards ensuring the nation is prepared for a national emergency or pandemic outbreak, U.S. Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) today commented on the latest findings by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) in their report on assessing states’ abilities to quickly care for large numbers of victims in case of a terrorist attack or natural disaster.
