Concord, NH--- Today, Congressman Paul Hodes launched a new television ad that highlights the work his office did to help Chris Howe of Newport receive critical treatment in Walter Reed Army Hospital. He helped him cut through the red tape and bureaucracy to get back to Newport after his vehicle was hit with an anti-tank blast in Iraq.

Congressman Hodes Urges Secretary Rice to Investigate Iraqi Reconstruction Efforts

Concord, NH--- Earlier this month, a Government Accountability Office report said that Iraq could complete the year with $79 billion in oil revenue in the bank.  Almost none of these billions has been spent on the reconstruction effort. Since 2003, the United States has spent close to $54 billion toward Iraqi reconstruction. Today, Congressman Hodes urged Secretary Rice to investigate the situation and obtain from the Iraqi government their plan to use their oil revenues toward reconstruction efforts in their country, to take the burden off American taxpayers.

Poll finds residents oppose Iraq invasion

A new UNH poll shows that a majority of Granite Staters oppose the 2003 decision to invade Iraq.

The Granite State Poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, reports that 57 percent of residents oppose the Unite States invading Iraq and 37 percent favor support the decision.

Congressman Hodes Calls on Bush Administration to Answer Questions on Iraqi Oil Revenue

Concord, NH--- Congressman Paul Hodes today called on the Bush Administration to answer questions regarding a new Government Accountability Office (GAO) Report showing that the Iraqi government had produced nearly $90 billion in oil revenue from 2005 to 2007. From 2003 until 2007, the United States spent nearly $48 billion for Iraq’s reconstruction effort. GAO finds that Iraq has spent only 1% of total expenditures to maintain roads, bridges, vehicles, buildings, water and electricity installations, and weapons for security forces.
