Government affairs Committee, Speaker Norelli, Representatives McEachern,
DiPentima and other Portsmouth Reps. have taken the first steps towards
reversing the New Hampshire Advantage by adding an income tax.

Janeway challenged to abolish Income Tax plan

(Warner)   State Senate candidate Andy Sanborn is challenging Harold Janeway to abolish his radical view that New Hampshire needs an Income Tax.  Janeway is an Income Tax supporter, and has a record in the State Senate of deficit spending and higher taxes. Sanborn believes in a small, more accountable government, with lower spending, and lower taxes.

Janeway in favor of Income Tax

(Concord)   State Senate candidate Andy Sanborn is calling out Harold Janeway for his continued push towards New Hampshire's first-ever Income Tax. In an article in this morning's Concord Monitor, Janeway struck a blow to all New Hampshire taxpayers. Janeway refused to take the popular Anti Tax Pledge, saying "it's not necessary to earn the voters' trust". In the article, Janeway blames New Hampshire's record budget deficit on the national economic downtown, yet New Hampshire revenue levels are at all-time highs.  The projected deficit stems from unrealistic revenue forecasts and overspending, which Janeway approved last year.

NRSC airs new ad against Shaheen

Jeanne ShaheenJeanne ShaheenThe National Republican Senatorial Committee has begun airing a television ad that attacks Jeanne Shaheen's record as governor; an ad the Shaheen campaign calls an "outright lie."

"As governor Jeanne Shaheen increased spending by a billion dollars, signed the first statewide property tax, and even agreed to sign a state income tax," the announcer says.
