NH electors meet to cast votes for Obama

CONCORD--New Hampshire's four electors met Monday to officially cast votes for President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden.

The electors were picked by the New Hampshire Democratic Party in May of this year. Two of the electors supported U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) during the primary and two supported Obama. Kathy Sullivan, Gaetan DiGangi, Ned Helms and state Sen. Martha Fuller-Clark (D-Portsmouth) cast four votes for Obama during a ceremony at the State House. Sullivan and DiGangi supported Clinton during the primary and Fuller-Clark and Helms were Obama's state co-chairs.

Biden hoping for Red Sox-Phillies series

MANCHESTER--In the heart of Red Sox Nation Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden admitted that he is a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.

"I know you guys have concerns and that's what the matter with Josh Beckett's arm," Biden joked.

Biden added, "I'm hoping for a Red Sox-Phillies World Series."

D’Allesandro says N.H. voters ‘know’ Biden

MANCHESTER--A Manchester state senator said that Joe Biden's trip to New Hampshire showed the campaign's commitment to the critical battleground state.

State Sen. Lou D'Allesandro (D-Manchester), who has been friends with Biden since the 1980s, said that Biden is a candidate that resonates in the Granite State.

Cullen: N.H. voters were indifferent to Biden during primaries

New Hampshire Republican Chairman Fergus Cullen said Granite State voters should question why Barack Obama's campaign has not released a list of earmarks requested by Joe Biden.

"To be charitable, New Hampshire voters responded to Joe Biden with indifference both times he ran for president here; Biden dropped out before the New Hampshire primary in both 1988 and 2008 due to lack of support," Cullen said in a statement. "But this time New Hampshire voters are interested in learning more about Joe Biden, specifically about why the Obama campaign won't release Biden's earmark requests and why Biden believes that it is ‘patriotic' to pay more in taxes."

Update: Biden returns to N.H.

Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden will be campaigning in New Hampshire on Monday.

Biden is scheduled to attend events in Rochester and Manchester. The Rochester event is being billed as a "community gathering," the Manchester event has not yet been determined.

Millerick: ‘One reformer’ in VP debate

Jayne Millerick, John McCain's campaign state vice-chair, said Sarah Palin demonstrated her record of reform during the vice-presidential debate against Joe Biden.
