Now that state Senator David Gottesman has decided to step down, some Republicans are looking towards Harry Haytayan to take another shot at the seat. Haytayan won a 3-way primary in 2004 after Jane O’Hearn had announced her retirement, but lost his general election bid against Gottesman by less than 200 votes.

Harry woudl be great...
for the Democrats. His polarizing personality is still remembered in Concord. It would be easy money for any Democrat running - they would just have to say "Do you really want Harry back?". Look how quickly Gottesman was able raise all that money in 04.
Harry Would be Great
Haytayan was a good fundraiser and a strong campaigner. Totally thumped Laflamme in the primary and only lost by a few in the general to a well known Dem in Gottesman. Good choice by Republicans.
